Training Specialist (Part-time)

Training Specialist (hourly consulting position)

National Center for Image Guided Therapy, Department of Radiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital

  • Minimum degree and field of specialized knowledge required to perform the job:

Candidate must have a minimum of a BS degree in Engineering, Physics or Computer science.

  • Minimum years of experience required in the field:

At least two years proven experience in engineering research (including computer programming) and at least one year of proven experience in teaching in higher-education.

  • Licenses or special skills necessary to perform the job:
    • Experience in image guided therapy is a strong plus.
    • Experience in programing in a UNIX environment is a strong plus.
    • Candidate must have sufficient language skill to conduct lectures in English.
    • Knowledge of patient-to-image registration, image registration, image segmentation, and medical visualization is advantageous
    • Knowledge of any of the following is a plus: image processing, coordinate transformations, and machine vision
  • Characteristic duties and responsibilities:
    • Design and coordinate training programs for image guided therapy based on 3D Slicer.
    • Conduct training courses approximately three times per year (international and national).
    • Develop training resources by preparing notes and visual displays in coordination with training needs and specific departmental needs.
    • Collaborate with management to perform interviews and consultation surveys to analyze training needs.
