Introduction

This page is intended to provide links to places where Slicer Users can get help.

Discourse

The most effective way to get help from the community is through the 3D Slicer community page on Discourse. Categories:

  • Support: usage related questions
  • Development: programming related questions

Mailing List (deprecated)

This used to be the common way to get help from the community before migrating to Discourse. Questions about using 3D Slicer should be posted to the slicer-users mailing list.

For programming related questions, the slicer-devel mailing list needs to be used.

Bug Reports and Feature Requests

We have a data base of bug reports and feature request which is based on a software package called "Mantis". Please file your reports in mantis and send an email about the report to the slicer-users mailing list.

Downloading Slicer

  • Slicer is free open source software and is distributed under a BSD license. Please read the Slicer License Agreement, if you use Slicer.
  • Compiled binaries are accessible through the Slicer Download page.

Training and Documentation

  • The Training page provides a series of courses for learning how to use Slicer4. The portfolio contains self-guided presentation and sample data sets.
  • Reference manual style documentation for Slicer4 can be found on the Slicer Wiki.
