Introduction

Slicer is a software platform for image visualization and processing. In general, it is recommended to use computers with enough memory and graphics capabilities.

Hardware Configuration

  • Precompiled versions 64bit of Slicer 4.0 are available for Windows7, Linux, and Mac OS X.
  • Main memory should be more than 4GB (8 recommended)
  • If you want to use volume rendering, make sure you work with a computer that has dedicated graphics hardware and memory. You should have enough graphics memory to hold your data set. 1GB is recommended. In general, we have seen fewer issues with volume rendering using nvidia graphics cards.
